Walker Realty is happy to announce that Winfrey Bates is joining Walker Realty as a sales associate. Winfrey is a retired educator after serving 43 years in the field of eduction.

Winfrey grew up in a single parent teacher’s home. She married Brooks Bates and had three children. Amy Walker, Anne Walters and C.B. Bates. After completing college, Winfrey taught in the Taylor County school system as an elementary teacher and librarian. As the librarian of Mannsville Elementary. Winfrey was fortunate to be selected as the first Media Specialist Award by Kentucky Educational Television. That same year, she was selected by Taylor County Business and Professional Club as their Woman of the Year.

Later in her career she served as the principal of Jamestown Elementary School and Campbellsville Elementary. After retiring from Campbellsville Elementary School, Winfrey served as the director of the Russell Center for Somerset Community College. Winfrey is excited to join Walker Realty, she loves houses and seeing the potential each house has to make a home for clients.
