McQuaide is a 1985 graduate of Campbellsville University, He was been promoted to associate professor of biology. He has employed at CU since 1993 when he began teaching as an adjunct professor and became a full-time instructor in 1996.

McQuaide worked as a lab analyst at Campbellsville Water Company from 1993 until 1996.

He is a 1981 graduate of Adair County High School. In 1985, he received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Campbellsville University. He earned a master of science degree in entomology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received his doctorate from the University of Louisville in 2006. He was a fellow in the biology department at U of L from 1989 to 1991.

He holds memberships in the Central States Archaeological Society and The NatureConservancy.

McGuaide is serving as president-elect of the National Sigma Zeta Honorary Science andMath Society and will serve as president in 2008.

He and his wife, Mary Ann Hutchison McQuaide, have two daughters, Sarah and Lauren. He is the son of Gladys Goodin McQuaide of Columbia, Ky., and the late Harry McQuaide.
